Engrave Ink® will ship you a kit to retain a portion of your loved one’s ashes and ship them back to us. Easy to follow directions, a serialized tamper-evident container, and return postage is included.
Once we receive the ashes at our facility, we use our proprietary three-stage filtering process (two-stage pre-filtration and one-stage microfiltration) to reduce the ashes to a microscopic particle size of 40μm (40 x 10⁻⁶). The ash particles are super heated using a specially designed graphite based pyrolysis system to just over 4,800 degrees Fahrenheit under a medically sterile environment. This process ensures thorough sterilization and refines the carbon content naturally present in the ashes. Mechanical agitation is then used to combine the refined carbon with our premium ink. The four-week process is given a unique number and tracked all the way through the various processes, each accompanied with thorough safety and control activities.
